ABOUT

The work The skin is the stage. Instrument for listening. It arises from a quest to explore the edges of the body as territory and the skin as the first possible stage. In an attempt to listen to the skin and its singular narrative, I made a handmade suit with fabric woven in copper (conductive) and nylon. As an instrument for listening to the skin and its silenced, encapsulated, and abstracted narratives. The suit functions as an instrument for listening to the skin only when connected to a larger external electronic system. From a singular sensory organ to an organ of a plural body system.

THE LISTENING BIENNIAL II

The work is presented in Installation format as a sculptural object. And in Performance Activation format as a Sound Instrument.

During the performance activation the sound of the suit coexists and interrupts a series of electronic audios composed from the Techno genre, experimental Dark House and field recordings presented by a Live Set and Night Club format divided in two venues in the same exhibition room.
